What is the idea generator?
Idea generator is a new feature in Homa Lab which allows you to generate game ideas based on keywords, or existing games and ideas. It is only available for both internal and external teams. You can find the idea generator inside of Ideas module. This feature is currently in beta.
The idea bot will give you a breakdown of the game that it has generated, including:
- Game name
- Objective
- Description
- Core mechanics
- Core game loop
- Reasons for success
- Relevant images
How to use it
When you launch the idea generator, an AI powered idea bot will ask you to describe your idea using keywords on theme, genre, mechanics and so on. When you are generating an idea, there are three options you can choose from:
Generate idea
The idea generator generates ideas based on the keywords that you provide. You can use keywords based on mechanics, theme, genre. You can use as many or as few keywords as you like. The more explicit and precise the input, the closer the bot can get to the desired idea you want to generate. Still, you can have good and less expected results with a shorter, less precise input. Below you can find a list of example keywords that you could use in order to generate ideas.
Select Game
You will get a dropdown list to select the game that you want the idea generator to use to generate a similar game idea. It will automatically collect the theme, genre and the mechanics of the game you selected.
If there are any missing game attribute, the idea generator will prompt you with a message to include the missing attributes for more accurate results. This is not obligatory.
The idea generator will generate an idea and relevant images.
Surprise me
Idea generator gathers data from Market Watcher and from games tested in Homa Lab,
Then it analyzes collected data, using the data gathered from these sources, the idea generator will generate an idea and relevant images.
Refine an idea
Once the bot has generated an idea for you, you can iterate it.
Ask the bot to refine the idea. You can use the chat to edit keywords, give commands on what to improve.
Save and edit an idea
Start Over or Add Idea
If you would like to discard the currently generated idea and start generating an idea from scratch, you can click "Start Over". Please keep in mind that you will lose this idea unless you add it to the ideas module.
Once you are happy with the generated and potentially improved idea, you can save it to the Ideas module by clicking "Add Idea".
If you would like to edit your idea once you have added it to the ideas list, you can do so on the idea details page.
You can also go to an idea page to generate another idea based on it.
